If you’re a fan of words, puzzles or games that challenge your brain in any way, Wordle is the perfect game for you. It’s easy to pick up and can bring out people’s competitive spirit. This vocabulary-building game was originally dreamed up by software engineer Josh Wardle as a surprise gift for his partner and ended up becoming so popular that it was purchased by the New York Times for seven figures.
The game is free to play on the NYT Games website, and there are a few unofficial apps for mobile devices that work just as well. The official website updates a new word every day at midnight and gives you six tries to figure it out. The answer is not revealed until the end of the sixth guess, so you can try your hardest to beat it and prove that you’re the best of them all.
Some days the word is more difficult than others, and many people struggle to come up with the correct answer. Tom’s Guide has a few tips that might help, including narrowing your guesses down to letters you’re sure are in the word (and avoiding those that are likely to repeat) and using the letter frequencies as a clue.
You can also check out this list of previous Wordle answers to see if you can find a clue that will point you in the right direction. However, even with these hints, failure is only ever six guesses away, so we recommend keeping an eye on this page and making it a part of your daily routine. wordle today
