Auto lock iPhone is a handy feature that prevents unauthorized users from accessing your device. However, this feature can be annoying if your iPhone screen gets locked every 30 seconds even when you’re not using it.
You can easily fix the problem by disabling the Low Power Mode toggle and setting a longer Auto Lock time in Settings. If that doesn’t work, try restarting your iPhone.
Reset All Settings
Sometimes, when you have a problem with your iPhone, you need to reset all settings. This is because it will help you fix problems that might be causing your phone to act strangely, like an iPhone error 9 or an iPhone stuck on Apple logo.
However, this process might cause data loss if you aren’t careful. So before you do this, it’s a good idea to backup your iPhone first.
The first step is to go to your device’s Settings app. Then, tap on General and select “Reset” at the top of the screen.
After that, you’ll see a list of different reset options. The first one is called “Reset All Settings” and it will wipe out all your settings on the iPhone.
It will also erase any Wi-Fi passwords you may have saved. This can be useful if you’re having issues with your network connection, or just want to clear out all the clutter on your device.
Another option is to choose “Erase All Contents and Settings.” This will not only wipe out your settings but also all the user data you have on your iPhone. It will also restore the device to its factory settings.
To perform this method, you’ll need to sign out of iCloud first. This will remove any access to iCloud services and prevent you from using Find My. You’ll also be asked to enter your Apple ID password.
Once you’ve signed out of iCloud, go back to the General page and select “Reset All Settings.” You’ll be prompted to enter your passcode again.
This process will revert all your settings to the defaults, including your location services and privacy settings. This will ensure that you don’t have to worry about your private information being exposed to strangers.
Disable Low Power Mode
If you’re looking for a way to prevent your iPhone from automatically locking when you’re not using it, consider turning off the feature known as Low Power Mode. This special mode disables a number of features (like iCloud Photos, Email fetch, and more) to help extend your battery life until you can recharge it.
While this mode is useful, you may also want to turn it off if you’re not particularly concerned about your battery life. When enabled, Low Power Mode reduces your device’s performance by disabling background app refresh and motion and brightness.
It disables automatic music downloads and updates, though you can still manually do this. It also cuts off your iPhone’s ability to check for new email, but you can set up a timer in Mail to refresh your inbox every few minutes to ensure you don’t miss important messages while using your iPhone.
You can re-enable Low Power Mode by going into Settings and turning it back on. It will then disable itself when your iPhone’s battery reaches 80 percent, though you can turn it on and off at will in Settings anytime.
Another way to keep Low Power Mode on when you’re running low on juice is by setting it up to trigger at a specific percentage of your battery level. You can do this by creating a personal automation in Shortcuts.
To do so, open Shortcuts and tap the “Automation” tab. Select the automation you created and then select the “Set Low Power Mode” action.
Now drag the slider to set a percentage at which you’d like Low Power Mode to activate. In our example, we chose 30%, but you can also choose to trigger it at 50% or any other percentage between 1 and 100.
Once you’ve done that, tap the red Delete button to remove it from your list of automations. You can then create a new one and change the default action to “Turn Low Power Mode On.”
While it can be helpful to enable Low Power Mode when you’re in low-battery condition, you can also use it as a savior when you’re stranded with no charger. But be sure to understand what the mode does, and how some of your favorite apps will work in it before turning it on.
Reset Passcode
If your iPhone has auto lock enabled, you may be wondering how to turn off this feature without losing your data. Fortunately, there are several ways you can disable this feature and get rid of the greyed-out screen that prevents you from unlocking your phone.
One of the best options is to use a software tool like AnyFix. It can help you reset your iPhone and restore it from a backup.
To do so, download AnyFix and connect your iPhone to the computer. Then, launch the tool and tap System Repair from the home page.
After the program runs, it will start to scan your device and find out all the system errors. Once it detects the problem, it will automatically fix it. Once it fixes the problems, your iPhone will start to work normally again.
Alternatively, you can use iCloud to wipe your iPhone and get it back to factory settings. This method is a bit more complicated but can be done if you can connect your iPhone to a Wi-Fi or cellular connection.
The first step is to connect your iPhone to the computer that you used last time you synced it. If you have a Mac, open Finder and select your iPhone from the left sidebar. Or, if you have a Windows PC, connect your iPhone to iTunes and click the tiny iPhone logo on top of the window.
Next, you will need to set up your device with a new passcode. This process can take a while, so you might want to wait a while before trying again.
Keep in mind that you can make up to nine unsuccessful attempts before your iPhone will stop working and ask for a passcode. If you are still having problems after these attempts, contact Apple support for assistance.
Raise to Wake
Raise to Wake is a handy feature that lights up your iPhone screen when you pick it from a flat surface. It offers a quick way to wake your iPhone compared to pressing the Side or Sleep/Wake button, which can be helpful if you’re multitasking and need to glance at your device.
The Raise to Wake function was introduced in iOS 10. It’s also available on the latest iPhone models, such as the iPhone X and XS.
This feature works by triggering a series of sensors, which react to the presence of opposing magnetic contact. These sensors are located in the front of your iPhone, which can detect that you’ve raised your phone. The software then automatically locks your device, then unlocks it with Face ID when you lift the phone.
However, if you don’t like the way that this feature works, or if it’s causing you issues, you can turn it off to save battery life and avoid unwanted alerts. You can do this by going to Settings > Display & Brightness and toggle off the Raise to Wake option.
Alternatively, you can use a third-party app to change the auto lock time. You can select an interval, such as 30-seconds, 1 minute, or 5 minutes.
You can also set the auto-lock time to Never, which means that your iPhone will keep its screen on until you manually lock it. This may be useful if you’re using an app that requires the screen to stay on for longer than your chosen time period.
