If you’re experiencing issues with severe weather alerts, there are a few things you can do. First, update your iPhone to the latest iOS version.
This will ensure that you get the latest bug fixes that can fix these issues. In addition, make sure you allow the Weather app to always access your location.
Go to Settings
You can turn off the weather alert on your iPhone by going to the settings of your device. You can use the Settings app to do anything from setting your ringtone to changing how your device works. It can even be used to move apps and widgets around the screen.
If you want to turn off the weather alert, go to the Settings menu of your device and scroll down to the Notifications section. You should see the Weather app in the list of options.
There you can toggle the notifications you want to receive for your current location or other locations that you have saved in the Weather app. By default, severe weather alerts will be turned on for your current location, but you can also toggle them on for the other cities that you have saved as well.
One of the biggest reasons for turning off these notifications is because they can be quite annoying. They usually play a loud sound and appear on your Lock Screen even when your device is muted or Do Not Disturb is off.
The Weather app is a great way to keep track of the weather conditions in your area and get a feel for what is coming up. In iOS 16 and later, you can even enable severe weather alerts to get an instant notification about any rain storms, tornadoes, hurricanes or flash floods.
Once you have enabled severe weather alerts, they will appear on your Lock Screen and will play a sound whenever they are activated. This is a great feature to have, especially when you are planning a long trip or if you want to be safe while traveling.
But if you are getting a lot of these notifications, it may be time to look at some of the basic settings on your iPhone. First, make sure that the Weather app has your permission to access your location information and receive severe weather notifications.
You can do this by going to the Settings app on your phone and selecting Weather > Location. Under this option, you can set the toggle to Always or While Using the Weather App.
Select Notifications
When a severe weather storm is coming, it’s important to be alerted as soon as possible. iPhone weather notifications can help you prepare.
If you’re using the default Apple weather app, you can set up alerts for your current location or other locations. These can be very useful if you travel or want to know what’s going on in your home city.
To get these alerts, you must first allow the app to use your location information. This can be done through the Settings app.
On the next screen, you’ll need to select whether or not you want these alerts always on. You can choose to receive them when you’re using the Weather app, or just when you’re using it, and you can also choose to have the Weather app send these notifications whenever it detects your location.
Once you’ve selected these settings, you can then turn on severe weather and precipitation alerts. These can be extremely helpful if you live in an area where you’re always worried about the weather, especially during severe storms and other weather events.
The weather app will send you a notification whenever there’s a forecast for rain or snow in your city. It will also show you the precipitation categories that are expected, such as extreme, heavy, moderate, and light.
You can also view a map of the precipitation forecast for your city at any time by clicking on the arrow in the upper left corner of the map. If you’re concerned about the amount of rain or snow that’s expected, you can tap the arrow again to see the detailed forecast for the next hour.
In addition to sending you weather alerts, the Weather app will also tell you when a hurricane or tropical storm is expected to hit your area. This can help you avoid dangerous weather conditions that could cause serious injuries and property damage.
If you don’t want to receive these alerts, you can disable them through the Settings app on your iPhone. In the Settings app, go to Notifications and then scroll down to Emergency Alerts.
Select Weather
The iPhone Weather app has recently received a number of enhancements, including the ability to set up notifications to be alerted to certain types of weather conditions. These include severe weather (tornados, hurricanes, flash floods, and heat waves), next-hour precipitation, and more.
To turn on these notifications, tap the ellipsis button (three encircled dots) in the top-right corner, then select Notifications. Below Current Location, toggle on the switch beside Severe Weather and tap Allow.
If you’d like to receive severe weather and next-hour precipitation notifications for other locations, you can also enable this in Settings. For example, if you’re planning a trip or have family living in a specific city, you can add it to your location list and turn on severe weather and next-hour precipitation alerts for that area.
You can also change the weather widget’s layout directly from the Home Screen by tapping it and choosing your favorite layout. There are eight different widgets to choose from, including moon events, sun events, conditions, location, rain, air quality, UV index, or wind.
Once you’ve selected your weather, you can customize it by changing the temperature unit to Celsius or Fahrenheit if you want. You can also adjust the background color and the font size to suit your preferences.
The Weather app also offers several weather modules, which you can open from the main screen to see even more information about your area’s conditions. These include a forecast, a detailed weather map, and a precipitation graph.
Another feature of the Weather app is its ability to place weather widgets on your Lock Screen and Notification Center. The Weather widget is one of the more popular widgets available on iOS.
