If you are a weekend camper or full timer your RV refrigerator needs to be reliable and work properly. If it does not cool or if you see yellow residue behind the fridge or smell ammonia then your cooling unit has failed. Replacing the cooling unit is the quickest and least expensive way to fix your refrigerator.
JC Refrigeration sells top quality Dometic and Norcold rv fridge replacement cooling units that are remanufactured in the US. They use heavier wall seamless tubing that won’t fracture and a boiler design that won’t leak. The result is a cooler that lasts much longer than OEM or aftermarket cooling units.
Our cooling units are shipped in a box that is cushioned and wrapped for protection. We highly recommend that you unwrap your new unit and lay it down to allow the evaporator foam pack to seat into the pocket for a proper fit. This will allow you and your helper to determine if the foam needs to be cut to fit or if there are any obstructions interfering with a good seat.
If you are a novice at this process, it is best to have a friend or family member to assist you in the installation. The first step is to remove the old evaporator from the back of the refrigerator. There are screws that hold the evaporator to the freezer and refrigerated cabinet of the refrigerator. These screws can be removed by turning them clockwise. As you are removing the old evaporator mark where each screw comes from so that they can be replaced in the same place on the new evaporator. Some of the screws have different lengths so it is important that you have a good mark. Nor cold cooling units
